One of our favorite past-times here at Tyrant Designs is not only building and crafting high-quality components for all of you to modify and improve your firearms, but we also like to look out into the community to see what you are building. It is satisfying – like when we were kids building with Legos – to start with a pile of parts and with our own bare hands build something really cool. This extends to tinkering around and building modern sporting rifles (AR-15s). That is why when we heard about the wood furniture components that Sharps Bros offers to compliment your AR-15 build we were intrigued. Sharps Bros is known for making odd, controversial, and unique pieces for firearms. One of their more subdued elements that looks pretty classy is their wood-inlay pistol grip as well as some M-LOK grip panels. While wood is not a new thought within the firearms industry, it is tremendously rare to see a nice set of wood married to a free-float handguard or a pistol grip on a modern sporting rifle. The classic attractiveness of wood matched with the modern stylings of AR-15s is something you might see in Star Wars meant to be a “space blaster” because of the steam punk vibes. Frankly, it looks really cool. The neat thing is that you could take one of our Mod or Halo Series foregrips or handstops and couple it with the classic look of M-LOK wood grip panels on your free-float handguard. This would give you the tactical dexterity to manipulate your firearm as needed in varying situations yet you will look fly as heck all the while you are doing it (style points count when you are operating). Also, with the Sharps Bros wood-inlay pistol grip, you could match that with our newly announced Enhanced Takedown Receiver Pins and NextGen Safety Selector. So, once again, you have all of the utility in the world with the improvements we have done on the safety selector and takedown pins like – chevron pattern texturing and a chamfered radius – to increase functionality as curb appeal increases as well. I believe the way of the future is going to be melding old or common materials, like wood, with modern designs. Here at Tyrant Designs, we are on the cutting edge of not only what consumers are asking for, but also in futuristic design and function. It was neat to see some wood pieces from Sharps Bros for an AR-15 build as well.
