Welcome back to the 33rd installment of my blog, in which I don’t claim to be an expert, in fact the opposite. I’m a new user to the AR platform and want to share my findings and experiences as I go through and build rifles as well as being the Operations Manager at Tyrant Designs.

Who doesn’t love accessorizing their AR-15. I love the feeling of seeing a part that would go perfectly with a current or future build you have in mind. I call it my “gotta have it mode”. Once I see it, I gotta have it, and will go on a hunt to find the manufacturer and where I can purchase it. For me, this usually includes different handguards, compensators, and buttstocks. Because of where I work I’m not really allowed to shop around for different AR pistol grips and foregrips, just kidding… but seriously I'd never hear the end of it.

There are some pretty strange accessories out there in which I have compiled a list. Some of them are pretty weird and have me shaking my head. Just because they are not my cup of tea doesn’t mean someone else won’t like them. Every moldy piece of cheese has it’s moldy cracker.

1. Jolly Roger AR Tomahawk Stock (Retail Price $209)

**Do not confuse the Jolly Roger Tomahawk stock with the Troy Industries PDW Tomahawk stock**

I went on their website to find more information about this stock but couldn’t find much. All I know is that it attaches to your standard mil-spec buffer tube. It appears that the axe itself isn’t very sharp and is meant to be more of a decorative piece. I would assume if it were sharp you might cut up your shoulder pretty bad. I could see something like this being used in the walking dead TV show.

2. Fab Defense UTA 19 (Product discontinued by the manufacturer)

The UTA is an acronym for universal tactical attachment. This attachment goes from the bottom of your handguard via a Picatinny mount and attaches to the back of the Glock 19 frame. Essentially, what this does is turn your Glock into a foregrip. Just in case you wanted to do double pew pew with your rifle and your glock at the same time. One of the many problems I have with this is it sits way too low to even be considered a practical foregrip. I respect my Glock way too much to shove this thing up its booty.

3. Gunsticles ($22.95 on Amazon)

These 3 oz set of testicles are beautifully hand sculpted via an injection mold and come in either black or FDE. It looks like they have a very smooth texture and are very durable. They are easily attached to any Picatinny rail. I actually think this could be a really nice vertical grip.

4. Mule Stock (Unknown price)

Another AR-15 stock modification that allows the operator to stow away their gun inside of the buttstock. The stocks hinges open at the bottom which is how you can holster the sidearm in your rifle. Be weary, you can only store a firearm that has a 4 inch barrel or smaller. The cool part is it ends up turning your rifle into a boat paddle just in case you drop your oar while you row row row your boat gently down the stream.

5. Tuffforce 4 side rail muzzle brake ($25.99)

Finally someone thought, “Hey, wouldn’t it be cool to mount accessories to the muzzle brake? You know where all the super hot gases are expelled after a controlled explosion.” I can’t imagine any accessory being constantly exposed to very hot gas being able to stay attached to the brake for very long.

With the recent tragedy that issued over this past weekend I thought we could all use something light for a change. What does everybody think of these accessories? Which one do you like/hate the most and why? Anything I missed? Let me know!
