One element of firearm ownership that I preach to individuals daily (as I work behind the firearm counter in a gun shop), is that the fit, feel, and comfort of handguns will greatly influence your ability to shoot handguns safely, confidently, and accurately. If this could be summed up in one word, we are simply talking about ergonomics. I’ll never shy away from the fact that I want my personal firearms to look rad as well as have good ergos, but the fit and feel is most paramount. Maybe you already purchased and own some firearms, that you have come to find out, do not shoot and perform as comfortably as you thought they would. Now, what?... Well, with components like those from Tyrant CNC, you can enhance the ergonomics of your firearm for more comfort and control. Let’s explore this further and hone in on why it matters so much.

Ergonomics – Control

When it comes to the ergonomics of a firearm – whether it is a shotgun, rifle, or handgun – one of the most important aspects is control. You can easily tell the difference between someone who is controlling and commanding their firearm at a gun range versus someone who is simply “hanging on for the ride.” When you command and control a firearm, you are the surgeon, tactician, director, commander, and navigator. The firearm does what you will it to do. Oppositely, if a firearm has bad ergonomics, even experienced shooters might look like they are shooting it sloppily, unconfidently, or unsafely. That is why selecting a firearm with good ergonomics matters so much. Or, if you need to upgrade a firearm, meticulously handpick select parts to improve your ergos like those from us. Control your firearm; don’t be a passenger along for the ride.

Ergonomics – Comfort

Some people might argue that “comfort doesn’t matter” or that “comfort should not be in the equation to owning guns.” Yet, I would disagree. There’s an adage that carrying a firearm should be comforting, but not always comfortable. Something else that is important to consider though is that if a firearm is not comfortable to shoot you will lack confidence and trust in it; thus, it will collect dust in your safe and never be used. So, comfort does matter. If a firearm is not comfortable you won’t use it, you’ll lack confidence, and then what’s the point in owning it at all?

So, when you are thinking of upgrading your firearms, curb appeal does matter (and we’re the kings of rad parts), but you also want to consider the comfort and control you will gain the improved ergonomics. In the end, make sure to get out there training, honing your craft, getting reps with your firearms, and likely Tyrant can help you along the way with some rad accessories.
